Opera on the Silver Screen
Showcasing some of the world’s favourite arias from a different perspective in this glittering celebration of the silver screen’s most celebrated operatic moments.
Presented at Opera Queensland 2022 & Stonnington Council 2023.
It can be presented with a host, 4 singers and two musical instruments, or as a large-scale work with a host, 6 singers, a conductor, and a 12-piece orchestra.
Midsummer Night's Opera:
Shakespeare in Song
A Midsummer Night's Opera showcases some of the most famous and beautiful operatic renditions of Shakespeare's finest plays and sonnets woven together.
Expect to be entertained with excerpts from Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream, Gounod's Roméo et Juliette, both Rossini and Verdi's Otello, and songs set by composers including Roger Quilter, Gerald Finzi, Cole Porter and Kate Miller Heidke. A rich repertoire of well-known and rare works for the audience to discover.

Opera Classics: Myth, Magic & Memory
From the tragic grandeur of Greek and Roman myth, where gods and mortals are bound by fate and free will, to the enchanting magic of European folklore, opera has long explored universal themes of love, loss, and redemption.
In this concert, these stories are interwoven with the deep spiritual connections of Australia's own First Nations dreaming and the most ancient music practice, where songlines map the sacred and animate the land. The operatic form gives voice to these timeless narratives, blending soaring arias, lush orchestration, and dramatic choral forces to evoke both the ethereal and the earthly, uniting past and present in a celebration of myth, magic, and memory.
