A story of the West Melbourne swamps of depression era Australia.

​

 

Centred around the second generation African Australian woman Elsie Williams, the piece is filled with a melting pot of immigrant cultures living on the borders of society at a pivotal time in Melbourne's history.

FLASH HOUSE
(formerly Little Lon)

Currently in stage 3 of development, this 'Ballad Opera' is based on the lives of the women who ran Melbourne's first red light district around Little Lonsdale Street in the late 1800s.

 

Capturing life in the largely female owned ‘flash brothels’ and ‘short time houses’ of the area the work will delved into the complex history of Little Lon, how this place, once a ‘slum’, has evolved over time.

HISTORY OF SUITS

Currently in early development with Maeve Marsden, curator and host of the popular story telling podcast 'queerstories' to develop writer and dramaturg Teddy Dunn's story 'History of Suits'. Following a successful collaboration with Divisi Chamber Ensemble and composer Alex Turley.
